Environmental Degradation
Environmental Degradation

Rapid industrial activity, urban growth, and poor waste management have placed increasing pressure on Bhadohi’s environment. Water pollution from dyeing units, plastic waste, air pollution, and shrinking green cover pose serious risks to public health and ecological balance. Our Environmental Degradation program focuses on community-led, sustainable solutions to protect natural resources and create a cleaner, healthier living environment.
Industrial discharge, plastic waste, and air pollution have contributed to contaminated water sources and unhealthy living conditions. These issues directly impact public health and the surrounding ecosystem.
Deforestation due to agriculture expansion and urbanization has reduced natural green spaces, affecting biodiversity, climate balance, and soil health.
Improper waste disposal and lack of organized waste management systems result in unhygienic surroundings, increasing the risk of disease and environmental degradation.
We conduct tree plantation drives using native species and lead community clean-up campaigns such as the “Clean Bhadohi” initiative. These activities help restore green cover and reduce pollution at the local level.
In partnership with local carpet manufacturing units, we promote the use of eco-friendly dyes and responsible waste management solutions. This encourages environmentally conscious production while protecting water and soil quality.
We form and support “Green Champion” groups that engage local citizens in monitoring environmental issues, spreading awareness, and advocating for sustainable practices within their neighborhoods.
